SOMETIMES

By Mimi Herrmann

Sometimes I’m so lonely
I just want to die
Take myself into my bed
Listen to me cry
Sometimes I’m so tired
I fall into despair
Don’t wanna clean my clothes
Don’t wanna wash my hair

But then sometimes I think of you
And I can get up again

Sometimes I hear the songs of angels
At night when I’m in bed
Sometimes I hear the guns of war
Going off in my head
Sometimes I hear the cries of children
Or the weeping of their mothers
Sometimes I hear the sound
Of brothers killing brothers

But then sometimes I think of you
And I can get up again

Because…there has to be more to life
There has to be more to life than this
And some day I’ll find it
But right now…sometimes...

Sometimes I feel big as the sky
Filled with stars above
Sometimes I feel wide as the sea
Filled with warm love
Sometimes I’m so lonely
I don’t know what to do
But sometimes...sometimes...
I know there’s you.
