BAD WEATHER

By Mimi Carpenter

A wind has been blowin' all this afternoon
Through my hair it's been playin'
I thought I knew the answers but I spoke too soon
You haven't heard a word I've been sayin'

And maybe later we'll go out through the town
Arm in arm we're together
And I'll hide my thoughts with a counterfeit smile
While in my heart there rages bad weather...

Eyes the color of the stormy sea
And a heart to match it
A spirit of flame that can set you free
If you can only catch it

You must be willing to risk your life
On a dream of buried treasure
But a hero's lot will be your reward
And a life of wealth without measure

(instrumental verse)

Your sweet dreams run through the silver strands
Of our lives that are woven together
I no longer hide behind deceit and lies
For in my heart there shines fair weather...

A breeze has been blowin' through this evening-time
But if it's cool we don't feel it
There's fire enough here to keep us warm
And no pain that we can't heal it
