What do you do for fun?
I have a bunch of hobbies:
- First of all, I enjoy maintaining this site. I wrote all the code (ASP/SQL) myself, just for the hell of it. I'm not god's gift to coding or anything, but I'm kind of proud of this site.
- I write, a lot. Actually writing isn't just a hobby; I'm hoping that when I retire from IT, I can make it my profession. A good deal of writing is in my various blogs (see "Where Else Can Lothie Be Found?").
- I love to sing. I was a soprano in my church's choir and in the South Coast Chorale back in Los Angeles. I also play a number of instruments, but my voice is my main instrument; I'm just mediocre on everything else.
- For a while, I was drawing fantasy characters, but I haven't done that lately. Note to self: start up with that again!
- I knit. I'm not all that great so far, but I've made some pretty pieces; I'd say I'm an intermediate level knitter now. I crochet, but not all that much. I also make jewelry.
- I love to cook, although Chris makes most of our meals because he also loves to cook and because he has more time. However, I make bread now and then, and I bought a book called Pie because I love to make pies.
- When we lived in LA, I went to a local indoor range a couple of times a week, to shoot at pieces of paper. I'm not all that accurate but I really enjoy myself; I bought a gun and I've already scoped out the one I want next, a Beretta Tomcat.
- I enjoy playing chess and can be found on Queen Alice online. I'm not all that good yet but I love to play.
- I love to hang out on the Net. In fact, I probably spend far too much time online, but you certainly can't say I don't have a life!
